These are the places I like. Not too formal (some are short on atmosphere). All have great food!

Cafe Pasqual's 121 Don Gaspar (at Water St.) Hearty, healthy, local flavor. Usually a line at the door.
Tia Sophia's 210 W. San Francisco St. New Mexican food.
Tecolote Cafe 1203 Cerrillos Rd. Local favorite.
Harry's Roadhouse east on Old Las Vegas Highway A bit out of town, but well worth the drive. Traditional breakfasts. Great desserts!
Santa Fe Baking Co. 504 W. Cordova Rd. Fresh pastry, traditional breakfasts, excellent breakfast burritos.
Excellent value.

Lunch

The Shed 113 1/2 Palace Ave. Excellent New Mexico food (lunch only); worth the wait if there's a line!
Dave's Not There 1115Hickox St. Great New Mexican food and great burgers.
Tomasita's 500 S. Guadalupe St. New Mexico food in the old railroad depot.
Tamale Molly 323 Aztec St. Gourmet, vegetarian tamales. All profits go to fight hunger.
Tia Sophia's 210 W. San Francisco St. New Mexican food.
Tortilla Flats 3139 Cerrillos Rd. Local food, local favorite.
Atomic Grill 105 E. Water St. American food with specials.
San Francisco St. Bar & Grill 114 W. San Francisco St. (in Plaza Mercado) American food, good burgers.
India Palace 227 Don Gaspar (Water St. parking lot) Best East Indian food in town!

CD Cafe 301 N. Guadalupe St. CD's, sandwiches and salads. Occasional drop-in live music at lunch (Otmar Leibert and friends).

Guadalupe Cafe 422 Old Santa Fe Trail New Mexican food in a converted adobe.
The Pink Adobe 406 Old Santa Fe Trail New Mexican and American food. A good place to see hollywood stars.
La Casa Sena 125 E. Palace Ave. (in Sena Plaza) Patio dining. New Mexican food. Reservations necessary!
Maria's New Mexico Kitchen 555 W. Cordova Rd. Good variety of New Mexican food, prize winning margaritas.
La Choza 905 Alarid St. Same owners as the Shed. New Mexican food. Hard to find local favorite.
Zia Diner 326 S. Guadalupe St. American food. "comfort food". Huge portions.
Tomasita's 500 S. Guadalupe St. New Mexico food in the old railroad depot.
El Farol 808 Canyon Rd. (public parking across the street). Spanish food (paella & tapas). Flamenco music and dance. THE "in" spot on Canyon Road.
Cowgirl Hall of Fame 319 S. Guadalupe St. American barbeque. Local favorite. Real (and not so real) cowboys and cowgirls.
Coyote Cantina 132 Water St. Roof-top cantina is a little less upscale (than the Coyote Cafe) and cheaper with good views.
